Group Practices: Truth
Authenticity
Previous | Next

Often truth is not a matter of objective facts. There are many areas of subjective experience and belief, in which there are no right answers. When we say someone is speaking their truth, or speaking the truth of their own experience, what we are referring to is authenticity or expressing who one is at one's core.

Having a facilitator or leader who speaks and acts authentically, asks questions that invite authentic responses, and sets groundrules that make honest sharing feel safe, can be important in developing authentic relationships that grow into resonance. But in any group, one person who has the courage to reveal him or her self can often be the spark that shifts the entire group.
